How the Foundation is governed

A Manager and a Board of Trustees, both recorded in the public register. Our governance is verifiable at source rather than asserted on this page.

Structure

The Foundation has two governing bodies, as set out in its statute and recorded in the Register of Non-Profit Legal Entities.

Manager (управител) Represents the Foundation and is responsible for its day-to-day management and for carrying out decisions of the Board.
Board of Trustees (настоятелство) 3 members serving a five-year mandate. The Board sets the Foundation’s direction, approves its programme of work, and oversees the Manager.

Who currently holds these positions

The names of the current Manager and Board members are held in the public register, which is the authoritative and always-current record. We link to it rather than duplicating personal data on this website.

Why we publish it this way. The register is maintained by the Bulgarian Registry Agency, cannot be edited by us, and is updated whenever the Foundation’s circumstances change. Pointing to it is both more reliable than a page we control and more respectful of the individuals concerned. It also means we publish no more personal information than the law already makes public.

Decision-making and conflicts of interest

The Foundation does not distribute profit. Income from any activity is applied solely to the objectives set out in its statute. Members of the Board serve without remuneration for that role.

Where a Board member or the Manager has an interest in a matter before the Foundation, that interest is declared and the person concerned takes no part in the decision. Our published research is subject to the same rule: we do not publish an assessment of a product or service in which the Foundation or its officers have a financial interest.

Accountability

As a public-benefit legal entity, the Foundation files annual financial statements and an annual activity report with the Register of Non-Profit Legal Entities. Those filings are public. As they are produced, we will publish them on our transparency page as well.
